Preconstruction includes preconstruction process management, design assistance, constructability consulting, budgeting, scheduling, cost control, and value engineering; all resulting in the optimal design, cost, and schedule for your project.

Daniel was raised in Birmingham, AL and attended Auburn University where he received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree and Cooperative Education degree after completing the civil engineering curriculum and two years of professional practice assignments on multiple project sites and in the Atlanta, Ga office of a large commercial general contractor. Upon graduation he joined the Birmingham office of that firm where he served in preconstruction and project management roles in various construction sectors, including large condominium, retail, and healthcare, handling most of his assignments from the jobsite office. His experience building projects and systems and the desire to serve clients, create culture, and influence through leadership led him to found Murray Construction in 2006. Daniel’s primary roles as President are serving as visionary and integrator for the company, cultivating future leadership, and developing relationships that allow Murray to serve and guide our clients to success.
Bill, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, is an alum of Auburn University where he earned a degree in civil engineering. He currently heads the Construction Services Department, overseeing the daily operations of the company's project management and field business divisions. Before joining Murray, Bill spent over 15 years working for a large general contractor, during which he acquired extensive experience in diverse market sectors such as retail, office, mixed-use, federal, industrial, institutional, as well as cultural and entertainment.
The projects Bill has handled vary in terms of size, complexity, and contract arrangement. As part of Murray's executive team, he contributes to the company's growth and organization. Outside of work, Bill enjoys family life with his wife Claire and their two children, William and Margaret.
Jason McRae holds his BS in Construction Engineering Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi. Jason Leads the Preconstruction and Estimating efforts for all Murray Construction projects thru supporting the project development and estimating team in developing all preconstruction services products; including but not limited to conceptual budgeting, design assistance, preliminary scheduling, contract negotiations, fixed price estimating, managing hard bids, feasibility studies, cost control, constructability, subcontractor procurement, and comparative analyses. Jason has held many roles, spanning 25 years in the construction industry from general laborer while in college, to estimator, project manager, and preconstruction manager. His project experience, both in project management and preconstruction management, ranges from large retail, healthcare, class A commercial office space, and federal government projects, to small boutique retail and commercial projects.
Kayla Patterson was raised in Birmingham, AL and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham before transferring to Athens State University, where she received her Bachelor of Accounting degree. Kayla has spent the majority of her career in the construction industry with twelve of those years serving in a Controller/Chief Financial Officer role.
Kayla enjoys spending time with her husband Rusty and their three daughters, Kathleen, Lana, and Olivia exploring the outdoors, hiking, and camping. Her hobbies also include travel, reading, and serving in her community and church.
Our projects are successful because of the important work of our trade partners and suppliers. We seek to come alongside them and deliver an experience that is successful for the entire team. We welcome new relationships in this area.
